My video walks you around the burial chamber of Seti I, a notable New Kingdom pharaoh whose body was entombed in the Valley of the Kings near Luxor. He was the father of Ramses II, who is widely considered to be the most important ruler of ancient Egypt.
My clip shows the elaborate artwork that adorns Seti I’s burial chamber, but you may notice that his sarcophagus is missing: The coffin, which is made of alabaster and covered in hieroglyphic spells and rituals from the Book of Gates, is displayed at Sir John Soaneās Museum in London; the mummy of Seti I is kept at Cairo’s National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.
