My video walks you through a portion of the tomb of Thutmose IV, a New Kingdom pharaoh who was buried in the Valley of the Kings near Luxor, Egypt. The clip ends in the burial chamber, where the ruler was laid to rest in a massive sarcophagus. The size of Thutmose’s coffin matches his voluminous tomb: Designated KV43, it’s one of the largest and deepest built during the 18th dynasty. The tomb was located by Howard Carter in 1903, nearly 20 years prior to his famous finding of the burial of King Tut, who was Thutmose IV’s great-grandson.
