Statues of the fearsome plumed deity Quetzalcoatl and the goggle-eyed rain god Tlaloc jut out from the Temple of the Feathered Serpent at the ancient ruins of Teotihuacán in central Mexico. Very little is known about the Mesoamerican culture that built the great city.
