I am shown walking along the edge of Subway Cave as the sun begins to rise over Boynton Canyon near Sedona, AZ. The cave, which is a popular spot for photography, is accessible via a northerly spur off Boynton Canyon Trail. The hiking route is a moderately challenging out-and-back that’s around seven miles (11.3 kms) in length; it begins at a parking area off Boynton Canyon Rd. The entrance to Subway Cave requires a short but steep scramble up smooth rock.
