A Sinagua ruin clings to a cliff in Boynton Canyon near Sedona. The native people lived in the central Arizonan desert for centuries prior to their mysterious exodus sometime around 1450 CE. Modern tribes like the Hopi and Zuni count the Sinagua as their ancestors; ruins like the one pictured above are scattered across Boynton Canyon and greater Sedona.
