My video shows you the artwork surrounding the sarcophagus of Ramses I, a notable pharaoh of the New Kingdom’s 19th dynasty whose burial is in the Valley of the Kings near Luxor, Egypt. The tomb, which is designated KV16, has the shortest entrance shaft of any at the site. It was unfinished at the time of Ramses’ death around 1294 BCE, only two years after he had risen to the throne. The illustrations in my clip depict scenes from the Book of Gates.
