My video takes you through some of the rooms comprising Pueblo Bonito, the famous great house at New Mexico’s Chaco Culture National Historical Park that was occupied by the Ancestral Puebloan people between approximately 850-1250 CE. Located in the modern-day Four Corners region, the site was critically important to Chacoan culture; its ruins are sacred for many of the Indigenous peoples of the Southwestern United States. Including Pueblo Bonito, the design features of Chaco Canyon’s urban ceremonial centre were never replicated, prompting UNESCO to designate it as a World Heritage Site in 1987.
