The Forty Mile Desert in Nevada is one of America’s most remote corners. This trail is near Fairview Peak in the Clan Alpine Mountains just off U.S. Route 50. The U.S. Navy’s legendary TOPGUN fighter pilot school has a training range to the west (and off-camera) of where I am walking.
