My video takes you through the interior of the Edfu’s Temple of Horus, a massive and immaculate monument built in honor of the ancient Egyptian god Horus of Behedet. The clip ends at the temple’s sanctuary, where a shrine of black granite was created in the sacred image of the falcon-headed deity who represented kingship and justice. The shrine was built by the pharaoh Nectanebo II in the 4th century BCE and is one of the only remnants from the older temple. (The monument that stands today broke ground around 100 years later in 237 BCE.)
