Video of Horseshoe Mesa (Grand Canyon N.P., AZ)

The ruins of a 19th-century mining settlement are shown at Horseshoe Mesa in Grand Canyon National Park, AZ. The site is accessible via Grandview Trail, a treacherous three-mile (4.8 kms) hiking route that begins on the South Rim. Along with remnants from the canyon’s prospecting days, the area of Horseshoe Mesa has a campground, stunning vistas, and a high radiation zone.
