Hemenway House, a cliff dwelling of the Ancestral Puebloans, is shown at Mesa Verde National Park, CO. The ruins, which have 26 rooms and a kiva, are in Soda Canyon; they were built sometime around 1200 CE in the Balcony House community. Hemenway House was named after Mary Tileston Hemenway, who funded the first archaeological expedition in the Southwest United States.
